In the last few weeks of training for the Race Across America, my life seems to be a blur, with a few small rewards in terms of food. This is an average working day…
- 0600 hrs: Wake.
- Commute.
- Work. Emails.
- Turbo train, 1 hour. No time left to hold back. Push hard. Energy gel at 0, 20 and 40 minutes.
- Protein shake.
- Work. Conference calls.
- Turbo train, 1 hour on the hill climbing block. Real slow cadence to mimic steep ascent. One energy gel. Focus on perfect form. One arm drills.
- Protein shake.
- Work. Conference calls. Small pizza whilst on the phone.
- Turbo train, 1 hour hill climbing again, this time pushing intervals well above my Functional Threshold. One energy gel. Make every interval hard.
- Protein shake.
- Commute.
- Steak and a glass of red wine.
Study RAAM rules. Finalise personal logistics. - 2330hrs: Sleep.
- Tomorrow… Repeat.
Stay motivated!
