Descending Scafell Pike just before 4am, I stopped to admire the view over Wast Water under a full moon. The beauty of the mountains in the moonlight and the stillness in the air at Wasdale Head (as opposed to the 45mph gusts on the summit) was very calming.
Moody skies above a hard-packed snow path, which winds its way to the summit of Ben Nevis.
We did this as the first of the three peaks in under 24 hours. I used to think that doing this in under 24 hours would spoil three good walks, but looking back, each walk was spectacular!
