This time next week I’ll hopefully be on my way from Lands End to External, for day one of our Lands End to John o’Groats bike ride.

Half a year of training, many sweaty hours in spin classes, several roadside puncture repairs, some meal regimes to get me to my target power and weight. And now it’s just a case of turning up and riding…

A batch of freshly-made jerseys!

I’ve organised the whole ride, from the route to hotels, mechanics and basic food planning.

I hope to send some photos from the road, and with a bit of luck, seven days after we set off, the seven of us should arrive safely at the finish.

And when it all gets painful and hard, just remember Velominati rule #5…
