Race Across America (RAAM) preparations…
San Diego: What a gloriously sunny day! We have checked in to a great four storey house in Little Italy. We stopped at a local bike shop to grab some last minute supplies and deal with some disc brake related issues, and crew meetings ran throughout the day as they beavered away with the mountain of logistics. One could not ask for a better crew!
Crew meeting: Team meetings vary in intensity, but always involve coffee or beer!
Good food was had all around, and there was an opportunity me and one other rider to assemble our bikes and take them for a spin out to Coronado island. I even found a small cafe round the corner from the house which served a great flat white at six in the morning. The jet lag from our flight from the UK is working in our favour as everyone is up and productive even before the sun rises!
Next stop: Oceanside, for the final few days of prep…
