It’s been a quiet few weeks since Turkey, where I went with friends for a holiday and an ultramarathon in Cappadocia (hands down the most scenic run this year).

In the last few weeks I’ve found direction for 2017:

  • I was invited to join a four person relay team to compete in the Race Across America (RAAM) bike race in 2017,
  • I’ve been asked to coordinate logistics for a group taking on the UK Three Peaks in 24 hours,
  • For triathlons I’ve decided to focus on sprint distance over long distances
  • I’m still mulling over a solo John O’Groats to Lands End bike ride, to precede RAAM

The biggest event will be RAAM in June, so any downtime between now and the new year will be used to build muscle before quickly ramping up the miles on the bike and getting used to being in the saddle.

But the year’s not over yet – I’m in Italy for my final road race of the year, the Firenza Marathon (Florence). Then I’ll be running the Tatton Yule Yomp back in Knutsford, UK. Finally in December 2016 I’ll be going up Mount Kinabalu in East Malaysia.

November and December may be my downtime, but I’m anything but stationary!

Keep moving!
